About Me
I have been drawing or creating art since I can first remember. I remember as a child, drawing on big cardboard boxes because I'd run out of paper. I took art in high school and college, but never thought I could make a living at it, so didn't get a full on degree. Later in life, after some of the brain frog from having seven children in eight years lifted, I realized art was missing in my life. I had to paint again. I began with watercolors as they were less mess with little ones, and way cheaper. I was able to transition to acrylic later and love using that medium for when I want texture and BIG. I retired a couple years ago so that I could spend more time and effort on the creative end of life. I could never paint during the school year because there was just no creative energy. Summer became my hidden studio. Now I can paint whenever, though there is still some stress with grandchildren. I'm able to work around it a little more, and hope you enjoy the product of my hands as well as I enjoy making them.
I've been writing since I was first thinking someone would want to read anything I'd written. Diary of Anne Frank was a BIG contribution to that idea. At first I used to copy cat the books I'd read, as I was an avid reader. Then as I matured and graduated from college, I realized I had my own stories to tell, and started doing that. The first two stories I wrote were for my daughters, as I wanted them to have something clean and wholesome to read. The first ones that I published were the HIbisicus Ladies series. I didn't publish the other ones until later. I now have over twelve books out at Amazon and had one with a traditional publisher. It still amazes me that I've written something that people like to read. I'm glad I've become one of your favorite relaxing reads.
Now I live in Northern Utah with my incredible supporting handsome husband and some of our adult children, various cats and stupid squirrels that have invaded. I tend grandchildren a couple of days each week, otherwise you can find me painting or writing to my hearts content.
